1. Congratulations to\u00a0Shaun M. who finished in 5th place at the State Geographic Bee on Friday, April 1.\u00a0 In the first round he was one of only two students out of 100 to receive a perfect score on some incredibly difficult questions.\u00a0 The top 10 students were in the final rounds and it was taped to broadcast on PBS stations in late May. \u00a0He represented GCJHS very well!!<\/div>\n

2. The Greenfield Police Department will be offering a presentation on cyber safety for your child with social media, cell phones and the internet.\u00a0 The program will be in the high school auditorium on April 12<\/span><\/span>, at 7:00PM<\/span><\/span>. \u00a0(See attached flier)<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
3. Golf tryouts are after school tomorrow<\/span><\/span> at Hawk’s Tail golf course.<\/div>\n

4.\u00a0April 7<\/span><\/span> is Spring School Picture Day.\u00a0 Forms should come home with your child today.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Place your spring portrait order now:<\/div>\n

  2. Create your own package with the sizes and quantities you want.<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Pay online and send completed flyer with your child on Spring Picture Day to make sure your child is photographed.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    5. Schedules for sports can be found two places.<\/div>\n
    1. The homepage of our website has the most up-to-date calendar embedded. It includes all athletic activities and is organized by day and week.<\/div>\n
    2.\u00a0gchscougars.com<\/a>\u00a0there is a middle school tab that also has the most up-to-date calendars organized by sport.<\/div>\n

    6.\u00a0<\/span>Before an athlete can participate in an athletic contest, the following items must be submitted:<\/div>\n

    -An athletic physical (an athlete cannot participate in practice without turning in a physical).
    \n-Online paperwork in RankOne (    www.rankonesport.com<\/a>).
    \n-$50 transportation fee (if not already paid for another sports team this school year)
    \n-$50 participation fee (per sport)
    \n*Some sports teams have a \u201cplayer pack\u201d fee as well.\u00a0 The fee amount, and deadline, will be communicated in the coming days.<\/p>\n

    Athlete grade checks will start (officially) the week of\u00a0April 18<\/span><\/span>.\u00a0 If an athlete has one, or more, F\u2019s they are ineligible for all contests until the grade check on the following\u00a0Tuesday<\/span><\/span>.\u00a0 They can still practice during that time, but they can\u2019t compete against other schools.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n

    1.\u00a0Yearbooks are still on sale and are $27.00.\u00a0 You can write a check payable to GCJHS and send it in with your student or you can order online at\u00a0yearbookforever.com<\/a>. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0Mrs. Scott also needs pictures of eighth graders for the slide show at the end of the year.\u00a0 We know\u00a0parents\u00a0and students are always snapping pictures at events.\u00a0 Please send pictures to\u00a0kscott@gcsc.k12.in.us<\/a>. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
