Principal’s Update 8/2/17

It was a great first day of school!  Everyone (eventually) found all of their classes.  We reassured the students that in another day or two they will know the building well and wonder why they ever struggled to find their way around.  We were short on MacBooks this year, but we anticipate getting devices for all students later this week.

I want to remind parents that our Meet the Teachers night is tomorrow from 7pm to 8pm.  It is an open house style, so you can go to classes in any order and come any time between 7pm and 8pm. Please bring your child’s schedule so you can find your way.

Also, we will have a meeting tomorrow at 6pm for parents of 8th graders who may be interested in going on the 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C. in May, 2018.  A representative from the tour company will be there to explain the registration process.  Students may attend with their parents.

Practices for football, volleyball and cross country have started.  It’s not too late to come out for those teams.  Boys soccer, girls soccer and co-ed tennis practices will begin on Monday.  Students must have IHSAA physicals turned in to school before they can participate.

The lunch menu can be found on our website under “quick links” or follow this link.  Students are not allowed to charge meals or get an alternate meal if they do not have money in their account, so please check on their accounts regularly on EZ school pay.

Have a great week.

Mr. Jack, Principal

Greenfield Central Junior High
