Correction! Greenfield Central Junior High and Greenfield-Central High School were approved by the State of Indiana to have two eLearning days. On these days, students will stay home and complete school work. Teachers will have training for ½ of the day and office hours to answer student questions and offer feedback on student work for the other ½ day. There will be an opportunity for students to come to school on these days if they do not have internet access. The eLearning days are scheduled for November 16 and February 8.

The Beginning of Year NWEA testing is complete and we are getting a first look at the data. Over 20,000 students participate in the NWEA testing across the country. There is more work to do, but we are very pleased with the tests this fall! Here are some highlights of the results so far:8th Grade83% of 8th graders scored at or above the national average in math.44 students scored in the 90th percentile in reading7th GradeThe average score for 7th graders was more than 3 points higher than the national average in reading.81 students scored in the top 20% of the nation in Language Arts.

McKinney-Vento Act – Our school corporation is required to send out the link to the Residency Form to each family twice a year. The information received from this form will be kept confidential and will be used by the corporation’s McKinney-Vento liaison to assist with outreach to families. We encourage students to attend our athletic events. Any GCJHS student who wears school colors will be admitted for free to our junior high home events.

Textbook Fees can be turned in anytime this month. 7th Grade fees are $150.26 8th Grade fees are $149.47
If you still want to purchase insurance for your child’s MacBook, it will need to be inspected at the time of payment. This can be done during the school day. Insurance costs $59.70 and has a $50 deductible for each claim.
