News

1. Our students planned and carried out a terrific Veterans Day program today.  Everyone was very impressed by their maturity and respect for our veterans!

2. We are offering free math tutoring at GCJHS starting this week!

3. If you missed the meeting for 7th-grade students interested in going to Chicago in May, there is information attached to this email and on our webpage.

4. Congratulations to GCHS Band, who are State Champions!  We have several 8th-grade band students who participate with the high school marching band and are State Champions too.

5.  D.C. financial assistance applications are available in the student Washington, D.C. Google Classroom page. We will have several $500 awards given to winners of the essay contest. Students should bring their typed essay and application signed by a parent or guardian back to their history teacher or student services by Friday, November 15th.

Reminders

  1. 2019-2020 Yearbooks can be ordered online for $29. Follow this link to order yours!
  2. We will have an eLearning Day on November 19 and February 5. 
  3. Car rider traffic- Please drop your child off along the curb.  In order to keep all students safe during pick up and drop off, we ask that you only park in the parking lot if you plan to come into the building or the traffic has cleared.

  5. If you would like to bring lunch for your child, please contact the office to reserve a conference room. Students can choose friends to eat in the conference room as well.   
  6. We encourage students to attend athletic events. Any GCJHS student who wears school colors will be admitted for free to our junior high home events.  
  7. Breakfast is available to students every morning before school for $1.75.
