1. Friday, we distributed Fannie May candy order forms for our school-wide fundraiser. Attached are the brochure, the order form and the details! Money and orders are due February 13. Candy will ready for delivery before Spring Break, just in time for Easter! We use the money from the fundraiser for student incentives, student benevolence, extra-curricular activities, transportation for field trips, academic teams registrations, and anti-bullying programs, to name a few.
2. We had some fantastic performances from our choir students in the Solo Ensemble Contest Friday evening. 41 of the 48 entries received a Division I rating!
3. 8th Grade Band’s Solo and Ensemble contest will be February 7th, at Doe Creek Middle School.

5. The Hancock County Public Library is sponsoring a Teen Dance at the Library, Tuesday, February 3, 6-8pm. See their website for more information: http://hcplibrary.org/
6. We continue to get updates regarding the new ISTEP+ test. We will begin testing the week of March 2nd. The test is going to take us longer to administer this year. There are additional sections as well as requirements that certain parts be given on the same day. The test may take 4 or 5 days instead of the usual 3 days. The rigor of the test has increased and so has the length! Our students’ stamina and focus will be very important to their success. In addition, we are being required to administer a series of practice tests that will take a much longer period of time to complete compared to past years. These practice sessions are will be administered later this month.
