Principal’s Update 9/12/16
News:
1. This week, is Digital Citizenship Week. Below is a chart with the theme for each day, the dress up day suggestion, and a link for a parent resource. Students will watch a short video each day with a digital citizenship lesson. Please take some time to look over the parent resources and discuss this important topic with your child.
2. Thanks to some grant money, Greenfield DARE Officer, Steve McCarley, is able to bring in a speaker for our students on Thursday. Many students will recognize Retro Bill from the DARE picnic in past years. Retro Bill is an energetic performer who will have the students’ attention throughout the hour. He will talk about conflict resolution and how to combat bullying, as well as making good choices in regards to drugs, tobacco and alcohol.
3. School pictures are this Friday, September 16. You can log in to LifeTouch and order picture packages now with code HM786146Y0. Packets were sent home as well. Athletics pictures will be Friday, after school.
4. We will start collecting envelopes for our school-wide fundraiser on Friday. Students can also turn in donations next week up to the walk-a-thon. Our goal is for each student to get at least $7 in donations.
5. The deadline to sign up for the 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C. is Thursday, September 15. If you think you and/or your child may want to go, please sign up. It is much easier to remove you from the list than it is to add you later.
