Principal’s Update 12/3/18

  1. Indiana Senate Bill 355 requires all schools to present a Body Safety Program to all students grades K-12.
    For grades 7-12, Mrs. Kile the guidance director led a round table discussion with our School Resource Office, Josh Mullins, Rachel Dennis, Victim Advocate at Alternatives, Inc., and Shannon Crull, the Victim Assistance Coordinator for the Hancock Prosecutors Office. We will show the video to our students next Wednesday, December 12. If you want to preview the video you can use this link.   2. The book fair is set up in the library and is available to students today through next Tuesday, December 12.

January 7: Second semester begins

 

Athletics:

Monday, Dec. 3:

7th and 8th grade boys basketball (B teams) vs. Triton Central — 5:30pm

Tuesday, Dec. 4:

  1. 7th grade boys basketball (A/B teams) vs. Southport — 5:45pm
  2. 8th grade boys basketball (A/B teams) @ Southport — 5:45pm   -Bus leaves at 4:15pm

Thursday, Dec. 6:

7th and 8th grade boys basketball (A teams) vs. Pendleton Heights — 5:30pm

Reminders:

The last remaining date for the eLearning day is January 30.

Students can be dropped off to wait outside in the morning. The doors to the building will be open beginning at 8:20 a.m. each day. When the temperatures drop below freezing, students can wait inside beginning at 8:00 a.m.

Breakfast is available to students every school day, at 8:20 a.m.

Powerschool App- Get up-to-date grades for your child, missing or incomplete assignments, attendance and school announcements. You can customize the dashboard to see only the headings you want to see. We do not calculate GPA at GCJHS and the lunch balance is not compatible with our system, so you can hide those headings.
