1. 8th Grade DC Trip information: Grueninger Tours has begun processing DC refunds! They will begin mailing checks next week. I know Grueninger has worked hard to get as much money back to you as possible.  As you can imagine, DC has been hit hard by the abrupt halt to tourism. I wish that our 8th graders could have gone on this adventure, and I hope they can find a way to visit the Capital someday. The refund amounts are below:

Student Tour Price

$1,000 per person ($760 – refund amount)

Adult Tour Price

$1,100 per person based on two (2) per room ($832 – refund amount)

$1,225 per person based on one (1) per room ($976 – refund amount)

Please contact Grueninger Travel Group: (317) 581-1122 with specific questions.

If you purchased the additional trip insurance: You can make a claim for 75% of the money you did not receive back from Grueninger, ($180 for students).  Please visit https://www.travelinsured.com/claims/ to begin your claim process. When filing, please use the date you are submitting your online claim, for both the incident and cancellation dates. Also, since you are part of a group/package tour, even though air is a tour component, please select “Land/Tour”, in the “Select expenses incurred due to the trip cancellation event”. Lastly, you may need a copy of your final GTG email invoice for the online claim process with Travel Insured. This would be the invoice that was emailed to you for the March 15, 2020 final payment. If you are asked for this, and need a copy, please contact GTG at [email protected] and request that a copy of your final invoice be emailed to you.

2. Governor Holcomb has ordered schools and campuses remain closed until June 30.  We know that students are anxious to clean out their lockers, pick up yearbooks and other personal items. Our corporation administrators have been working to develop a plan for these needs.  As soon as we have a plan and schedule, I will send it out via email, our webpage and twitter.

3. Parents of 7th Graders: Please make sure your child has filled out the google form to rank their preferences for related arts classes next year.  The form was sent out by Social Studies teachers last week.  Here is a link to brief descriptions of each related arts course.

Reminders

If you need technology support for your child’s support, please email [email protected] stating the student’s name, school, and tech issue.  The tech department will work with you to solve the issue.

WIFI access is available in the south parking lots of Maxwell Intermediate and Eden Elementary.  The Hancock County Public Library also extended WIFI to their parking lot.

21st Century Scholar Enrollment

Families are still able to sign up for the 21st Century Scholars Program.  If you would like more information about the program or would like to enroll, please visit: https://learnmoreindiana.org.

Families unable to submit the 21st Century Scholars enrollment application by the June 30th deadline due to COVID-19 illness or disruptions should submit an appeal with the Enrollment Application Worksheet as soon as possible after the deadline.
